{Carrie & her daughter Sydney}
 I only got to live by this dear friend for around 3 years but in that time I got to know one of the nicest most selfless people I know. Not only would she watch my kids whenever I was in a pinch (like I swear she could be bleeding to death and would still happily say sure I can watch your kids). Or how she took my little boy Brady to preschool almost every day because I was really pregnant and really sick. I will never forget she did that for me.

When she lived here she was always getting people together for lunchs or birthdays. Which is much needed when you live in a town where Winter seems to last all year and you tend to not really see anyone all Winter long.

I have never heard her say an unkind word about anyone and she is the first to raise her hand to help. She is one of the few people in my life where I can just think of them and get teary because I miss them. Not to mention when I do see her (which isn't often enough) I automatically get tears in my eyes.

She taught me that in order to have a friend you have to be one. You can't just sit home and feel bad because no one is inviting you over. You call and invite them over. You cant just talk to people when you need something, you need to reach out and call or email just to say hello. She also taught me that it is more satisfying to give than to recieve.

So here's to an amazing person both inside and out. I am a better person for knowing her. I only hope that someday I can be more like her.
